We make 9 different varieties of DeVine Cookies. Each cookie is sized for 2-3 bites to offer the ability to sip, bite, sip in order to get the essence of a perfect pairing. Serve them at your wine tasting party, as a starter for your dinner party and as an accompaniment with your favorite glass of wine.
Individual flavors with suggested pairings:
Apricot Orange: Due to it’s lovely balance of fruit, the apricot and orange flavors in our “Apricot Orange” tasting cookie pair very well with Viogníer. A hint of cumin adds a touch of India that nicely compliments this dry, floral, full bodied Rhone white wine.
Chile Cheese: The balance of heat from the dried chile along with the nutty flavor of parmesan cheese are a perfect combination in our “Chile Cheese” tasting cookie which pairs perfectly with a nice crisp Rosé. This astonishingly great pairing will surprise even the most discerning palette!
Orange Pine Nut: The sometimes grassy, citrusy and slight oak flavor of a Sauvignon Blanc stands up very well to the sweet citrus of orange and the soft bite of fresh orange zest in our “Orange Pine Nut” tasting cookie. The delicate flavor of pine nut tops this cookie to round out the pairing perfectly!
Almond Basil w/ Sesame: Take a full bodied rich, complex wine like Cabernet Sauvignon and match it with the flavors of almond and basil and you have a winning combination as in our “Almond Basil w/ Sesame” tasting cookie. We finished it with white and black toasted sesame seeds to give it an exquisite light crunch and toasty flavor. With this cookie, you can trade your Cab for a Mouvedre or Petit Verdot too.
Fig Walnut: The sweet chewiness of the fig, light crunch of the walnut and a wave of cinnamon make this “Fig Walnut” tasting cookie a wonderful partner to a light to full bodied fruity red wine such as a Pinot Noir. Try it with a Sangiovese as well and you’re sure to have a hit!
Sage Currant: A full bodied red wine such as Syrah pairs incredibly well with the sweetness of the currant and the distinct savory flavor of sage in our “Sage Currant” tasting cookie. Grenache would pair nicely as well with this combination.
Lavender Walnut: The delicate flower of lavender comes through ever so gently in our “Lavender Walnut” tasting cookie. Laced with a layer of finely chopped walnuts, the combination is nothing less than yummy next to a medium to full bodied rich, complex white wine like Chardonnay.
Pepper Cheese: Rainbow colored peppercorns and Asiago cheese with a dusting of fresh ground nutmeg make our “Pepper Cheese” tasting cookie a clear match for a robust and hearty Zinfandel. How about a Tempranillo? Yes that works very nicely too!
Dark Chocolate Espresso: Rich dark chocolate spiked with a trace of espresso and the pine-like fragrance of rosemary leaves makes up our “Dark Chocolate Espresso” tasting cookie. It creates a happy marriage with a medium bodied full flavored varietal like Merlot.
